The only person I heard say anything about Big Bird was Romney… once, during a debate (he may have said it again if he had to double back on his words there like he did on so many others, I don’t recall.) Wound-licking conservatives have apparently decided after-the-fact that this was a major fixation of the Obama campaign. Since Republicans have stated explicitly that they refuse to be swayed by facts or reality, I suppose this little revision is more than up to their standards. I for one encourage this clownish in-the-dark ignorance on the part of the conservatives; by all means, continue to believe that any truth that causes you discomfort or inconvenience is simply a liberal conspiracy. I mean, how advantageous can it be to honestly interpret the world around you, have some sense of what’s actually going on, and make decisions accordingly, right? This aggressive self-delusion on the part of the Right served the Left quite well in this most recent election, and if they stay the course it will no doubt do so again in the future. Good job guys. Keep it up.
